The Challenge
The challenge in the Minnesota Children’s Museum Curtainwall Rehabilitation and Waterproofing Project was to identify and address complex water infiltration issues within the curtainwall system, which had multiple points of water entry while ensuring the structural strength and integrity of the building’s exterior.
Our Solution
The building sealants from glass and aluminum to building substrate were removed and replaced ensuring the system integrity against water penetration.
Results Accomplished
The project successfully addressed current problems and improved the curtainwall system’s durability, making it more resilient to future obstacles. This involved taking out sealants from the aluminum components down to the building substrate, priming joints, and carefully resealing identified areas based on inspections and plans.
