Rum River Elementary Landing Close Off
Rum River Elementary wanted the landing closed off so the students could not climb over the railing.
The Challenge
A student had climbed over the railing on the landing overlooking the foyer below. After that incident the principal wanted to close off the area with a glass wall to keep the visibility and open feeling of the space.
Our Solution
We designed a storefront glass wall system that mimicked the architectural design of the existing exterior windows. We brought in another contractor to remove the steel railing and build a small knee wall for the new framing to sit on then the Brin glaziers installed the glass wall. All of this had to be completed in three days of spring break which meant we had to do everything right the first time to meet the deadline.
Results Accomplished
The principal can rest easy knowing the students can no longer climb over the railing.
